I have decided to review this breeder because, when I came upon a website I got from Hob Nob's website, I looked up dogs affected with CEA, and Shoreland Kennel had a dog that had been affected. The dog was born April 17th, 2001 and was named Shoreland's Totally Unexpected. There is another dog, with the same parents who is classified as Normal. As for the kennel, they have about 70 BC's and 34 Aussies. These are the dogs mentioned on the website and the total is over 100 dogs. Most of these dogs may be co-owned, but I am not willing to check each individual page for the dogs. There website also says "We are just starting to think about retiring from breeding, and have select adults available for sale. I want to take my time to find the right homes for my dogs, but I definately plan to downsize some. Please contact us for information regarding these older finished champions and a few youngsters as well. Stud dogs also available." This is a direct quote from their Available Dogs page. Of the pages I looked into, the dogs looked very healthy, with thick show BC coats. The colors I've seen at the kennel are Black, Gold, Chocolate, Tricolor, Merle and Blue. I personally would never buy a pup, because they have too much of a show dog look about them and I prefer a skinnier, working dog look with not such a large coat.

You can look on the OFA website yourself to see how many Shoreland dogs have been tested. Here's just one page of many border collies that were tested normal. There are many pages and this is just for Border Collies. Then there are more tested normal dogs under Australian Shepherds. Look for yourself before believing others!

I have always offered replacement puppies and follow through with my guarantee on my puppies. I have not had many complaints, but there is one person that bought a dog from me out east that says I didn't do anything, and this is not true. I offered a replacement puppy to her, and she refused it, and decided to put up bad things about our kennel. If you look behind most winning border collies here in the USA and overseas you will find the Shoreland name, because we have bred some of the top dogs here in the USA and our dogs are behind most of the dogs out winning.
ReplyDeleteAlso you need to get your numbers right. No way do we have that many dogs. We have about 12 Aussies and 28 border collies.
